Aligned with the regulations of the English Carpet Bowls Association, the group follows the adapted rules suitable for play within village halls and community centres. The game entails delivering bowls from a designated area on the carpet while avoiding a centrally placed circular block. The standard Jack, akin to indoor bowls, measures 2.5 inches in diameter and is positioned along a centre line, thirty feet from the end of the carpet.
Convening on Thursday mornings, the group initially relied on borrowed equipment, generously provided by Anfield Plain Methodist Church. Encouragingly, the membership flourished in the initial months, prompting the BCA to invest in its own second-hand equipment. Presently, the group meets weekly, attracting between 12 to 20 players.
Recognising the growing interest, the group is now aiming to expand its capacity by acquiring a second set of equipment, enabling more enthusiasts to participate.
